You would think that the popularity of coach Tiller would get you a leg up during recruiting. Sadly enough, Purdue got no 4 or 5 star prospects.
Fantasy College Impact: Coach Tiller has one great looking QB to run that good 'ol Boilermaker spread offense. Curtis Painter (3703 PaYd, 21 PaTD, 18 PaINT, 116 RuYd, 6 RuTD) was in a groove last season, although Purdue's overall record (8-6) does not reflect it. Look for Painter to build on the success of last season. Boilermaker fans should rest easy with this kid running the show.
Purdue will continue from last year and run a RBBC (Running Back By Committee), with Kory Sheets (769 RuYd, 11 RuTD, 204 ReYd, 2 ReTD) and Jaycen Taylor (658 RuYd, 4 RuTD, 233 ReYd, 1 ReTD). Both had a year to mature and hit the weights and they should produce better numbers as a group than last.
Dorien Bryant (937 ReYd, 6 ReTD, 162 RuYd, 2 RuTD) and Greg Orton (688 ReYd, 4 ReTD) are back to lead a receiving corp that should put up some big numbers. It is a wonder how the Boilermakers lost as many games as they did, with the offensive output they had. They had weapons all over the field.
